Weekly Overview

Expect similar conditions to the last 10 days, with slightly less rainfall and a change in turf stress conditions for some regions.

Average Maximum & Minimum Temperatures

Last 10 days

Weather

Average maximum temperatures are expected to be between 1-7 °C for the UK over the next 10 days.

Average minimum temperatures are expected to be between -2-5 °C across the UK.

Growth Potential

Next 10 days

Last 10 days

Weather

The UK can continue to expect to be in the Low Growth Potential zone (highlighted by the red circles), meaning turf will require different management practices maximising turf health and performance.

At this time of year, turf requires all the help it can get to maximise growth and strength. Maximising photosynthesis and chlorophyll can be achieved by applying products containing potassium and magnesium such as Ferro Top®.

Base Nitrogen

Next 10 days

Last 10 days

Weather

Base nitrogen requirements (numbers inside the circles) are expected to be zero for most of the UK over the next 10 days, however, the South West does show 1 kg/N. Nitrogen sources such as ammonium & nitrate are more suited to this time of year and low growth potential.

It's always important to match the turf requirements for nitrogen as applying too little or too much can both have detrimental effects on turf health & performance and also increase disease occurrence, especially during this time of year.

Depending on your grass species and soil type, base nitrogen requirements may be more or less than the weather estimated figures.

Application Advice

Using PrecisionPro will help you calibrate your spreader and fertiliser correctly and also ensure correct walking speed is achieved. When applying any type of granular product it's important to keep a consistent spread width, therefore reducing missed or overlapped areas for a perfectly treated surface.

Rainfall

Next 10 days

Last 10 days

Weather

All regions across the UK can expect rainfall ranging from the lowest amount of 11 mm in East Anglia up to the most of 55 mm in East Scotland.

Turf Stress

Next 10 days

Last 10 days

Weather

The next 10 days of turf stress show that regions from Yorkshire northwards, South Wales, South and South East can expect Low Stress conditions. A band of High Stress conditions from the North West / North Wales regions through the Midlands and across the East Anglia can be expected, with the South West also expecting High Stress conditions.

During this time of year, products to help protect the plant such as Green Lawnger TR and Dew Dispersants will help reduce leaf moisture, help prevent disease and improve surface playability. The pigment technology in Green Lawnger TR will also help increase the turf canopy temperature, protect the crown from frost damage and accelerate thawing of snow and ice.

Delivering the correct nutrients and micronutrients during specific turf conditions is key to keeping your turf healthy and resilient to disease pressures and stress.

Seed Germination Days

Agrovista amenity overseeding weather data helps you apply the right seed at the right time, maximising germination and ensuring optimum establishment. Using our amenity weather data, we can highlight the amount of base germination and optimum germination days that are occurring over the next 10 days.

Bent

Last 10 days

Weather

No Germination days dominate bent overseeding for most of the UK for the next 10 days, however, a few regions are displaying Base Germination days. Overseeding with bent will not see any noticeable results within 21 days.

Remember it's important to ensure correct seed to soil contact for each type of seed.

Fescue

Weather

The next 10 days can expect mostly No Germination days to occur, however a few regions can expect some Base Germination days also.

Always ensure correct seedbed preparation for optimum soil to seed contact.

Rye

Last 10 days

Weather

Seed germination days for Rye over the next 10 days continue to show that regions can expect a split between No Germination days and Base Germination days.
